LFDS630 Intelligent Pressure Controller
A pressure switch plays a vital role in process control and safety management systems. As technology has developed, processes have shifted toward automation including automatic pressure control using electronic pressure switches. Electronic pressure switches have many advantages over mechanical pressure switches. Higher accuracy, better service life, and greater flexibility and stability are some of the benefits of electronic pressure switches. Air Compressors
The pressure switch in air compressors helps maintain adequate pressure levels to ensure optimal operating conditions. It also protects tanks and lines against overpressure that may result in rupture. When high pressure is detected, the pressure switch cuts out power to the compressor motor; otherwise, the pressure switch signals power supply to the compressor motor. Aside from sending alerts to trigger open and close positions, electronic pressure switches are also capable of displaying analog or digital pressure readings for more accurate monitoring.

Water Pumps
Like in compressed air systems, the pressure switch in water pumping systems is activated when fluid pressure goes beyond the preset level. The switch point at which electronic pressure switches provide output signals is set at the factory or is programmable on-site. Furnaces
A furnace pressure switch acts as a safety device. It is located near the inducer motor. As the fuel burns in the furnace, hot air and combustion by-products are created. The pressure switch ensures that the inducer motor is working, and the exhaust gases are driven out through the vent to keep the furnace running. When the pressure switch detects abnormal levels of pressure due to a leak or buildup of gases in the furnace, a signal will shut down the furnace.

Air Conditioners (AC)
An AC pressure switch protects the compressor from damage due to very high or very low pressures. The compressor runs the entire AC system by pumping the refrigerant. Without the refrigerant circulating through the system, the AC will not function. Extremely high pressure that causes damage to compressors is due either to a possibly dirty condenser coil, an inoperative condenser fan motor, or overcharge of refrigerant. On the other hand, refrigerant leakage, a dirty filter, or low airflow are the causes of exceedingly low pressure that lead to malfunction of compressors.
Fire Sprinkler Systems
Different fire sprinkler systems use alarm pressure switches to alert corresponding authorities in case of a fire. Alarm pressure switches are best suited for the wet, dry, deluge, and pre-action automatic fire sprinkler systems. They are used to detect water flow from one or more sprinklers or to control the pressure in a dry pipe system. Supervisory pressure switches are another type of pressure switch used to monitor the status of air pressure in dry and pre-action systems or water pressure in wet pipe fire sprinkler systems.
While mechanical pressure switches have served the best interests of several industries for a long time, advancements in technology are starting to replace them with electronic pressure switches and sensor&transmitters.
